Shower Door Warranty
Our shower doors carry a lifetime warranty on the tempered glass and a 5-year warranty on every other component — frame, track, rollers, hinges, handles and mounting hardware. This page sets out what each part covers, what is excluded, and how to raise a claim.
Lifetime warranty: tempered glass
The glass in our doors is SGCC-certified tempered, and it is covered for the lifetime of the product against manufacturing defects — anything wrong with the glass itself as supplied, including edge quality, visible distortion and seal failure that is not the result of impact or poor installation.
Tempered glass shatters completely by design when struck hard enough, and impact breakage is not a manufacturing defect. That is why the lifetime cover applies to the glass as manufactured, not to accidental damage after installation.
5-year warranty: all other components
- Frame, top rail and track
- Rollers and sliding hardware
- Hinges and pivot hardware
- Handles and handle bars
- Mounting brackets and fixings supplied with the door
This covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal household use and correct installation.
What is not covered
- Glass broken by impact after delivery
- Damage from improper installation, including a door hung out of level, on insufficient wall blocking, or with the wrong fasteners
- Water leakage caused by installation, missing or worn seals, or a shower base that is not correctly sloped
- Scratches or clouding from abrasive cleaners, steel wool or scraping tools
- Damage from misuse, alteration, or repair by unauthorized personnel
- Normal wear of consumable parts such as bottom sweeps and magnetic seals
- Commercial or industrial use, which is excluded entirely
Liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective part. It does not extend to incidental or consequential damages such as water damage to floors or walls, and we do not cover labour, removal or reinstallation costs.
If it arrives damaged
Do not install a door that arrives damaged. Photograph the packaging and the glass before unpacking further, note the damage on the carrier's delivery paperwork, and contact us within 48 hours. Transit damage is our responsibility to resolve and is handled as a replacement, not a warranty claim.
How to make a claim
- Keep your order confirmation as proof of purchase.
- Email info@northern-breeze.com within 30 days of noticing the fault, with the model number, purchase date, a description of the issue and photos.
- We will review the claim, request further detail or an inspection if needed, and resolve approved claims by supplying a replacement part or arranging an authorized repair.

Shower Door Maintenance Guide
Glass shower doors do not wear out — they get coated. Soap scum, minerals and body oils build a film that looks like cloudiness in the glass but is actually on it, and once it hardens it takes real work to remove. Two habits prevent almost all of it.
Squeegee after every shower
Sixty seconds with a squeegee removes the water that carries the minerals. This is the whole secret to a door that stays clear for years.
Clean weekly, not monthly
- Spray a 50/50 white vinegar and water mix, or a pH-neutral glass cleaner, onto the glass.
- Wipe with a microfiber cloth, then rinse and squeegee dry.
- For light soap film, a paste of baking soda and water lifts it without scratching.
Never
- Use abrasive powders, steel wool or scouring pads — they scratch glass and dull aluminum frames permanently.
- Use acid-based descalers on metal frames or seals.
- Use a razor blade at an angle on tempered glass; a plastic scraper is the safe tool.
- Let cleaners dry on seals or gaskets — they harden the rubber.
Track and rollers
- Vacuum or wipe the track weekly. Hair and grit in the track is the main cause of a door that starts sticking.
- Wipe rollers with a damp cloth; do not oil or grease them unless the manufacturer specifies it, since oil attracts dust.
- Check the top rail fixings every few months — a door that starts to sag is usually a loosened screw rather than a failed roller.
Seals and gaskets
Bottom sweeps and magnetic seals are wear items. If water starts escaping at the base, replace the sweep before assuming the door is at fault — it is an inexpensive part and usually the whole problem.
Glass breakage from impact is not covered by warranty; defects and transit damage are. See the shower door warranty, or email info@northern-breeze.com for a replacement part.
