Solid Surface Bathtub Warranty
Every Northern Breeze solid surface and stone resin bathtub carries a 5-year warranty on the shell and a 1-year warranty on hardware and accessories. This page explains exactly what that covers, what it does not, and how to make a claim if something goes wrong.
Warranty period
- Bathtub shell: 5 (five) years from the date of original purchase
- Hardware and accessories (including drains and overflow kits): 1 (one) year from the date of original purchase
The warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser. It covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal household use and proper installation, where installation is carried out by a licensed plumber in line with local building codes and our installation instructions.
What is covered
- Manufacturing defects such as cracks, chips or discoloration arising from faulty materials or craftsmanship
- Functional defects in hardware or accessories caused by defective components
- Repair or replacement of defective parts — or the entire product where repair is impractical — at our discretion
What is not covered
- Damage from improper installation, including failure to follow installation instructions or use of incompatible parts
- Damage from misuse, abuse, negligence or accidental impact, such as heavy objects striking the tub
- Normal wear and tear, including minor surface scratches from regular use and gradual discoloration from hard water where maintenance has not been kept up
- Damage from chemical cleaners containing abrasives, bleach, ammonia or acidic substances
- Modifications, alterations or repairs performed by unauthorized personnel
- Damage from floods, earthquakes, fires or other external factors beyond our control
- Products purchased from unauthorized resellers
- Cosmetic imperfections that do not affect function, such as minor blemishes visible only on close inspection
Our liability under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the product. It does not extend to incidental or consequential damages such as water damage to floors or walls, and we are not responsible for labor, removal or installation costs. This limited warranty excludes industrial, commercial and business use.
How to file a claim
- Keep your proof of purchase — a copy of your order confirmation or receipt.
- Contact us within 30 days of noticing the defect at info@northern-breeze.com, including your product model number, purchase date, a description of the defect and photos or video if you have them.
- Inspection and resolution — we will review the claim and may request further information or arrange a professional inspection. Approved claims are resolved by replacement of the defective part (shipping included), repair by an authorized service provider, or full product replacement where the item is deemed irreparable.
Keeping your warranty valid
Proper maintenance is a condition of coverage. Clean with mild soap and water, rinse and dry after use, and avoid abrasive pads and bleach-based cleaners — our solid surface maintenance guide covers this in detail.

Acrylic Bathtub Maintenance Guide
Acrylic tubs hold their gloss for decades on one condition: nothing abrasive ever touches them. The surface is a thin, high-gloss layer over a fiberglass-reinforced shell, so a scouring pad takes off more than dirt.
Every day
- Rinse with warm water and wipe with a soft cloth or sponge after each use.
- Use mild liquid soap or a dedicated acrylic-safe bathroom cleaner.
- Rinse off any cleaner residue and dry the surface — this is what keeps the gloss even.
Never
- Use scouring powders, steel wool, wire brushes or abrasive sponges.
- Use bleach, ammonia, acetone, or anything labeled as a heavy-duty degreaser or descaler.
- Leave cleaning products to sit on the surface — apply, wipe, rinse.
- Stand in the tub with shoes on, or drop tools into it during installation.
Hard water and soap scum
A mix of white vinegar and water removes light soap scum and water marks. Rinse thoroughly afterwards. If your water is very hard, drying the tub after each use is more effective than any cleaner, because scale only forms where water is left to evaporate.
Light scratches
Fine surface scratches can be polished out with a non-abrasive acrylic polishing compound, working in small circles and finishing with a clean cloth. Heavier scratches and chips need a filler kit matched to your finish. Contact us before attempting either — the wrong product can cloud the gloss permanently.
Freestanding tub specifics
Because there is no surround, an acrylic tub takes the full force of a dropped shampoo bottle or a vacuum cleaner handle. Keep the area around the tub clear while moving furniture, and lift, never drag, anything across the rim.
