Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we get asked most, answered properly. If yours is not here, email info@northern-breeze.com — a person replies, not a bot.

Shipping and delivery

How long will my order take?

Orders ship within 1–3 business days. Items from our local distribution centers arrive in about 7–14 days; items shipping from overseas stock take roughly 5–8 weeks, which is stated on the product page before you order.

Is shipping really free?

Yes, on all orders to the United States. There is no expedited option at the moment.

How is a heavy bathtub delivered?

Stone resin and solid surface tubs ship on a pallet by freight carrier, curbside only, on weekdays during daytime hours. The carrier normally calls 1–2 days ahead to book a window. You will need two people to move a 260–320 lb tub from the curb — the driver does not bring it inside.

What if it arrives damaged?

Inspect the packaging before signing, photograph any damage, and note it on the delivery paperwork. Then email us within 48 hours and we will arrange replacement parts or a replacement unit. See the shipping policy.

Sizing and fit

How do I measure for a shower door?

Measure the finished opening — the distance between the finished wall surfaces, not the studs — at the top, middle and bottom, and use the smallest number. Do the same for height. Our doors state the opening range they fit (for example 56"–60" W x 74" H); if your measurement sits near the edge of a range, email it to us before ordering.

Will a freestanding tub fit through my bathroom door?

Check three numbers: the doorway width and height, the tightest corner the tub must turn, and the tub's overall dimensions. A 63" x 29.5" tub usually fits a standard 30" door opening; a 71" x 35" tub may need the doorway taken off its hinges. Email us the route and we will work it out with you.

What size bathtub do I need?

For a full-length soak, 59"–67" suits most adults. For a small bathroom, a 43"–49" Japanese soaking tub or round tub gives a deeper soak in a much smaller footprint. Our small bathroom bathtub collection lists the compact models.

Materials and care

What is the difference between stone resin, solid surface and acrylic?

Stone resin and solid surface are dense composites of limestone and marble dust: they hold bath heat longer, feel warm and solid, and weigh 260–320 lbs. Acrylic is lighter (67–127 lbs), less expensive, and easier to move upstairs. See the full comparison.

Does solid surface require sealing?

No. Solid surface, artificial stone and our concrete basins are non-porous as supplied. Clean with mild soap and water. We do recommend waxing sinks every six months to keep the surface slick.

Does the drain come with the tub?

Yes — every tub and sink includes a pop-up drain, and tubs include an overflow. You need to buy a faucet or tub filler separately.

Returns and warranty

What is your return policy?

30 days from delivery, in unopened original packaging, with an RMA number issued before you ship. The customer pays return shipping, and samples, clearance and custom items are final sale. See returns and refunds.

What does the warranty cover?

Solid surface and stone bathtub shells and sink basins: 5 years, with 1 year on hardware. Shower doors: lifetime on the tempered glass and 5 years on every other component. Defects in materials and workmanship are covered; impact damage and improper installation are not. See the bathtub, sink and shower door warranty pages.
